sonic circus duo
Currently fixated somewhere along the East Coast, Sonic Circus consists of Dana Jessen (bassoon) and Michael Straus (saxophones). Through blind emails and phone calls to composers, along with a sleep deprived attitude and lifestyle, Sonic Circus is slowly building a repertoire. Their combined individual efforts include the premiers of over forty new works with performances at The STONE, Jordan Hall and Kennedy Center along with dozens of appearances at universities and experimental venues. Always looking to collaborate with non-traditional artists and musicians, they teamed up with turntablist DJ Dubble8 and electronic musician Katarina Milijkovic for their spring 2007 tour performing at New Hampshire's Franklin Pierce College, Cambridge's Lilypad and the Boston Cyberarts Festival @ NEC.
